Okay so I need some advice on how I should set up my internet in my house and I have been researching like crazy but still not sure whats the best way to go.

I have 1 modem with wifi, 1 Linksys wireless router, and 1 netgear wireless router.

I have my modem at one side of the house, want to put my Linksys wireless router at the other side of the house (The kitchen), and the netgear wireless router upstairs.

I cannot move my modem and was wondering if I directly connect an Ethernet cord through the walls from the modem I have to each router would that be the best way to get the best internet through the house?

I also want all the wireless networks to be the same name so that the devices connect to the best strength router automatically. Do I just need to name all the SSIDs on the router the same and the same password to do this? And if my routers overlap will that be an issue? Or should I just make all the routers different names?

I guess the biggest issue I'm having is when I test my internet from my modem/wifi router it is around 50 mbps. But when I test my linksys router than is directly connected to my modem with an ethernet cord I get only 20mpbs..

Is there some settings I should be messing with? Also should I use cat6 Ethernet cord and will about 50 feet of Ethernet wire be okay?

I know a decent amount about computers/networking but just want to know if this is the best way to go please let me know what you guys think and if you need more info

You can definitely use your existing routers as WIFI access points. Here is a pretty good tutorial.

You can try having all your WIFI on a single SSID. Whether your devices will roam is hit or miss at BEST. You might get lucky and your device will switch, or it might stick to a lower signal access point. And don't expect the hand off to be seamless. Don't expect to have a skype conversation without glitches as you walk around your house. Definitely set different SSIDs during setup so that you can tell which access point your are connecting to.

If roaming is a high priority for you then you need to consider buying hardware than has that designed into it. The Unifi line of access points has the infrastructure to allow MANAGED handoff between access points.
