I have just built my computer and added a hard drive increase my memory. I ran into an issue with the computer not recognizing the Hard Drive. I have a SSD in already running windows and I'm not able to use disk manager as it does not show up in there. It does show up in device manager. I have tried unplugging the SSD and rebooting it with the windows 8 installation DVD and partitioning through the install process but the computer thinks it booted up on a previous version of windows.

The Hard Drive is a 1TB Western Digital. Please help!

1) Using the EaseUs Partition Master Free 10.1 too. http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

2) Download and run the "Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for DOS" http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=606...
If you get the error message, then RMA the HDD, if no, you can try to use "Acronis True Image WD Edition Software" to add the new hard drive feature, get it from the same WD site.

When you go in to computer management, does it show as disk 1 and is it unallocated? Is your primary listed as disk 0?
