Hi, I'm looking to buy a laptop for around £400. I will be using it for editing and rendering videos, so I'm sure it will need to be pretty powerful. I'll also be using it for general use of course. It's unlikely I'll be using it for gaming, so graphics won't be an issue for me.

It depends on how heavy the rendered videos are. If it is basic then maybe something with a gt 630m should be ok but that may be difficult to find in this price range. You can try and find an acer aspire v3 if you can.
