I would be very grateful to anyone who can tell me what to do about this problem.
A couple of days ago I replaced my SSD boot drive with a better one. I cloned it with Adonis. Everything seemed fine. Yesterday I connected my Seagate USB 3T backup drive. Today I found that it had not backed up successfully. The software could not find the drive. I checked the device manager and found that the USB HD was listed but had the yellow triangle and the warning "This device cannot start" The same warning was on my Sony card reader. Neither of them show in the My Computer. My Cannon printer (usb connection) has the same warning but works properly. All of these things worked before the drive swap. The Mouse and Wireless keyboard do work.
I tried these things
Reboot, deleting the most recent Windows update,Unplugging all other usb hardware, changing ports, updating drivers (said newest was installed already) uninstalling these items and letting them reinstall. U was unable to find the USB drivers online to replace them but I did check with Windows driver tuner and all drivers are correct (it says). Since I thought the USB was in the MB I checked to see that they were turned on and reinstalled the bios. No restore point is available because the restore was reset to off during the swap and no points remain.
Where do I go from here? I would have expected that I could remove and replace USB drivers but I don't see them anywhere. Mine are USB 2.
Thanks
Rob
