I feel like I'm being bottlenecked when running heaven 4.0 basic
Cpu-amd fx 8350 @4.3
GPU 1 Xfx 7990 core 1000 memory 1500
Gpu 2 Xfx 7970 DD core 1000 memory 1500
Gpu 3 MSI twin frozer II 7970 1000 core 1500 memory
So total of 4 GPU.
Psu-seasonic 1000 watt platinum
Memory Kingston hyper x @ 1600
Motherboard- sabertooth 990fx (not the r2.0 )
Samsung 840 pro 128gb (operating system)
Samsung 840 pro 256gb (for games)
WD caviar black 1tb (for storage)

I can run max everything on basic with v sync on @ 60fps and side by side 3d/horizontal
Except when running 3d dual output
Which is what the oculus runs in the headset right?
I get 15-47 fps

Anyone got ideas or if I'm right with the oculus . I'm unsure which type of 3d is being used in the headset. ( would like to test in heaven)

motherboard is all x16 (besides my 1x), tri is 16x8x8
manual has no specifications on quad
but 7990 is on the x16 but 2 gpus on one lane, so they should both be x16x2 x8x8 correct?

Sorry , just checked the specs again .Its x16, x8 x8

But I still have a vague memory that all cards in a crossfire will behave like the weakest card .
But how ever it works out it looks way to complicated to work well and consistently .

I'd still want to try the two 7970's in crossfire , and the 7990 on its own
to see how it behaves

what resolution are you running?

1920X1080, if it counts its a 40 inch sony bravia 3d tv, not a small monitor.

ok. late reply (had to rma motherboard) onboard audio was not working, that said. the creative xfi titanium sound card was causing this bottleneck, onboard performs better probably because of exceeding pcie lanes and such,
this is even with the fx8350 at 4.4 /4.5 turbo
and reducing to trifire
guessing its a motherboard limitation
but for some reason i cannot get the sabertooth 990fx onboard audio to play 5.1, specfically the center speaker, works fine on the sound card.
