Currently my rig is as follows:

Msi ZH77A-G43 (1155 socket)
Intel G2120 (1155 socket)
8G Ram (1600)
Readon 7770HD (sapphire)
Kingston 250G ssd
1 TB seagate Barracuda (for deep storage)

I'm looking to upgrade to the i5 3570 as i am not interested in OC the K series really means nothing to me. I'm also looking to get the Nvidea GTX 660 2G video card. I"m currently experiencing bottle necking (currently it's due to my processor) But is getting the GTX 660 2G video card with the i5 even necessary to see better performance or should i save that money and put it elsewhere?

Just looking for opinions and options. My upgrade budget is $500.

What PSU are you using?

For $500 I would look into a R9 280/ GTX 760 and upgrade the cpu to an i5.

I would get the cheapest i5 you could find. maybe $170-180 then get $320-330 gtx970. you might be able to just pull this off at $500 and you will have a CPU that will not have issues in games and a GPU with 4GDDR that will last as long as that CPU will. To many games pushing right at that 3GDDR limit right now and that means 4GDDR is right around the corner.

with any i5 you should be able to even due an SLI in the future if needed or wanted without a true CPU bottleneck.
