I currently have a gateway fx6800-01e and have installed a new amd r9 270x graphics card into it. My previous graphics card only had 1 6 pin connector running to it from the power supply so I plugged it into that and took one of the 6 pin connectors it came with and plugged it into the molex connector that was hanging around by it. this is my first time attempting to do this and i think that may have caused the problem?

I have researched on the forum though and there has been a lot of complaints about vista compatibility with the card. Currently both of the fans are running on the card so I think it might not be the power supply issue and just a driver issue with vista.

when i installed the catalyst control center and try and open it i get the message "AMD Catalyst Control Center cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD Catalyst Control Center"

Download the latest driver from amd.com . Make sure you select the correct operating system

See if that makes a difference

When I spoke to costumer support he told me that it wasn't a problem with how i installed the card because i would have just gotten a blank screen if it was. he said that vista has crappy support with the amd drivers and to download the windows 7 ones instead. i have tried windows 7 and vista 64 bit and none of them seem to work.
