Hello everyone,

i have been trying to figure out a way to recover my data from a virtual drive (MyWinLocker) after the whole drive got formatted. my computer was buggy and i ended up formatting the drive and forgot to back up whatever data that was saved on the virtual drive. any ideas or suggestions?

Someone mentioned that i should try and find .vmdf and then install a trial version and use the trial version to unencrypt the lost .vmdf file. anyone have any suggestions for freeware that will help me find the .vmdf file? or any ideas on how to resolve this?

Did you write to this drive after you formatted it?

the virtual drive has nothing currently saved on it and i have not yet used it. the MyWinLocker automatically got installed when i had to format and reinstall windows.

I would use testdisk to recover the previous partition after doing a image of the drive to another, such as an external drive.
