Once I get in to the Disk Management, my second HDD is showing black (unallocated). I right click on the drive but I don't get the New Simple Volume option that then brings up the wizard. My only options are convert to dynamic disk or convert to GPT disk. How do I add this second HDD? My primary Cdrive is a 512gb SSD. Thx for your help...Jerry.

If you can see your HDD in Disk Management, then format it. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/install-remo...

Like I said, I don't have that option...only the ones I posted above. I read through your link and its for Windows 7. I have a feeling that its now different in Windows 8.1, which is what I am running.

Is it over 2.1 GB?? If it is you may have to use GPT.. And have a system that supports UEFI.

I figured what I was doing wrong. I was right clicking on the small box to the left that said Disk 1. I should have been right clicking on the long box, just to the right that has the size and says unallocated. Problem solved and is now working just fine. Thx to everyone that tried to help.
