i recently installed a swiftech h220x and the leds on the apogee xl only seem to work at high fan rpms...i used asus fan xpert 2 to tune the fans...i was wondering it there was a work around for this other than letting the fans go full tilt all the time

thanks

additional info...the water block pwm is plugged into the cpu opt as per the instructions

Solution
Well since it seems the block has a wire for nothing but an led, I would just connect it to the power supply with a molex to 3 pin fan connector.

If it is not lighting at low speeds it would seem that the board is using voltage and not PWM. A pwm header should always provide 12 volts.

i dont want the fans to go full speed all of the time but it seems like the only way the led works on the water block is if they are running at a high speed

If your problem is the LED in the block, try the power supply adapter. Since the pump is on the radiator, the only thing powered by that wire from the block is the LED(s). Feeding it full 12 volts(from the power supply. not board) will keep it list at full brightness all the time.

I actually plugged the 3 pin to the 4 pin hub provided by swiftech it fixed the issue :)

I have it connected to the resavour pwn hub that is connected to the cpu header . so I think it gets a constant 12v . the light hasn't turned off yet and is pretty bright

I think I need to re-route my can wires though and take out 1 of the hubs. I have 2 pwn hubs. Problem is though I can only control the whole group and not inividual fans. It may cause come beat issues but my case runs at 30 degrees Celsius with my house being about 90 degrees fereignhight. Any thoughts on that? I know it's off topic but yea

If your case is 30c(about 86f) in a 90f house you are doing great :).

Your case temperatures will always be effected by room temperatures(and will always be room temperature or higher) plus any hardware generated heat.

If you have room, you may be able to stash the PWM hub or hubs in an unused optical drive may or even being the MB tray if you have that kind of room.
