Hello,

My name is Adam, I am having the worst time trying to get crossfire to work. I am using 2 Sapphire 7870's. Both cards work properly in the ports they are in. My motherboard is an Asus Sabertooth 990Fx r2.0. My power supply is a corsair cx750m. I've tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling. Did not resolve the issue. I have tried 2 different crossfire bridges however neither worked.

Please send help :(

Did you enable Crossfire in AMD Vision control centre?

Under gaming look under the options you have.

I have tried, It states that something is hooked up incorrectly however I have made sure they are not. GPU's are in correct pcie slots, both gpus working, crossfire cable hooked up

I would try changing the slots around, you have in a total (3) to work with so either move them up or down then try again.

I have tried the x4 slots as well, still gave me a fit. It seems for some reason it just doesnt want to work. Note: I am on windows 8. Catalyst version 14.9

Can your system detect both cards?

If you can run each card fine one by one then the cards are fine.

Your motherboard will need replacement if the outcomes above work (if it doesn't detect both cards that can indicate a faulty slot).

Also, I checked clock speed on GPU-Z, everything is perfect on there. Same everything.

Motherboard was just installed today, had issues with prior mother boards as well... I think I may be doing something wrong

I would go to a repair shop and get that Sabertooth tested, Sounds like you have got a fault product on two occasions, unfortunately.

Alas, up here in small town ND we don't have any repair shops.. any suggestion on test I could run myself?

When it's hardware we are severely limited with testing.

You could try clearing your CMOS then re-installing your cards after.

I do have 3 mobo's here to test off of, 2 of which are the supposed faulty ones, the third is an Asus m5a97 r2.0. However, not really looking that forward to taking my H100i out...... again...

if you have another cooler then try use that (Supported by socket).

Unfortunately, I do not.. This is frustrating.. I'm gonna call Asus support to maybe get an RMA. However, I am not giving up. If anyone has any ideas please chime in.

Ya know what, my best assumption is that I have a faulty port on one of the two cards.. It seems like the most likely cause

if you try one card at a time and they both work in the same slot (ONLY use one at a time), then the cards are fine.

They do work, however is it possible for just the crossfire port not to work on them?

that is also possible, stick on both the connectors at once and see what that does.
