The only difference is that the trident has nicer heat spreaders which are removable to clear some air coolers.

Save your money and buy low profile 1.5v ram. 1866 is about the best you can do.
Most apps will not be impacted, think 1-2% difference.

The Tridents are the better of the sticks, they use better memory ICs and and have more OC headroom - also the stick shown in the Memory for less ad is not what you will be buying - that appears to be a no-name stick - the model number listed is for the GSkill Ripjaws Z, which have never looked like the image they are portraying, these are the Ripjaws Z
