I have intel i5-4200U 1.6GHz processor, GeForce GT 740M 64-bit edition Graphics card and 8GB RAM Laptop , will I be able to play Assassin's creed Unity ??? If yes what would be my average FPS?

Yes you can like i said before every person has a different perception of how well a game is running and how they enjoy it likewise you have been gaming on this laptop and have enjoyed it to a certain level but for other people the game would be running too slow for them to enjoy .Taking that into account i think you can play unity on your laptop.
Here take a look at your laptop graphic's performance in Assasin's creed black flag and other games .From this it is clear that you are most likely...

You will be able to run it but at low settings.If you have been gaming on this laptop for some time then i think you can get a decent experience out of it.Official requirements are not out yet so we can speculate on that.

You mean I can't even play it at low settings with playable FPS? Well, I am able to run games like Max Payne 3 at medium-high settings.

I would have to say no, since they gtx 780 which is like the highest i have seen in recommended. The gtx 680 costs around 300bucks so unless you spent 300 on a graphics card, or have a gtx 650 or higher then you wont be able to play it decently. Would also say no to laptops since ac unity requires a major graphics card which is unheard of since arma 3 was released.
