Which type of cable to use for a run of 250ft to use with an hd sdi camera?

I bought a swan hd sdi system with 1080p cameras, I tested my system with their rg59 100' cable they provided and works great, but then I probe it joining the two sets of 100' cable with a conector and the camera didn't sent any signal. I though my problem is about video signal loss. after calling the tech support they recommended me to use RG11 but it's so hard to buy it on the stores, that seems like nobody is using it, so I wonder if instead of RG11 i may use RG6.... what do you guys think I should do? should I use amplifiers for such an small length?

Hi
Difficult one, over that length RG6 will lose about 2Db more signal than RG11 depending on the strength of signal this may or may not be enough to affect you viewing it.
Note that by adding the connector to the RG59 will have dropped the signal by about 3 Db.
If it was me I would go for RG6 if I could not get RG11 try it and if it did not work then add an amplifier.
you also need to do the run with one cable length with no joins in it.
