Many problems with my first Pc build, what can I do?

Hello everybody, about 2 months ago I attempted to join the Pc side and had thoroughly constructed my own build (see below) I had a fun time building everything despite it being a bit intimidating at first. Then after 3 days of preforming tests and installing the latest drivers my pc was finally ready to run its first game, I picked the steam copy of Borderlands 2 and despite "thinking" my hardware could run it on default settings I ALWAYS set my games to a 1280x720 windowed mode because I don't care about the quality as long as it runs and since this was my first attempt at playing a pc game I wanted to keep a close eye on the Resource Monitor to see if there was anything to demanding for the hardware. Borderlands 2 played amazingly without getting a CPU usage of anything higher than 40% and a constant 60 FPS. After playing for about 2 hours total my PC was hot as hell almost 90 degrees F. then after waiting and trying less demanding game I would end up with the same thing an overheated system. If you look at the build below you'll see that i have 4gb of RAM but I did get another stick for 8gb of RAM total and it didn't make any difference PLEASE NOTE I DON'T OVERCLOCK ANYTHING AT ALL! I did go inside the computer and cleaned all the cords and check to see if everything is installed correctly and It was So ontop of the overheating problems I have found a TON more problems.

My Windows 7 ultimate sp1 startup takes forever to boot, and when it finally gets to the desktop it takes 10 minutes to load all my programs and background services even though I don't have many.

Now the HDD is making weird noises from time to time and I think its failing.

The USB ports on the case and motherboard are BAD. I actually have to use a good amount of force to get a USB drive into a slot on that case.

My personal reasons for building this PC was to do lite 720p editing and gaming, and to be able to record with some software, but currently im just to afraid to even touch the thing.

Here is are all the questions I need answered...

Why is my computer overheating? Should I buy extra fans or can I go into my bios and increase the performance of the ones i have now? and does increasing your fans speed have any negative side like damaging hardware?


What should I do about my slow Windows? I want to use recording software and I thought I should get a new HDD to write those files to, and If you think it will help id like to buy a SSD for the OS, if you have any personal ones you think would work best please link them.
