I have a chinese apple air look alike. The SSD malfunctioned and I am trying to do a fresh install of win 7.The SSD is not showing up in bios and win7 install is asking for a driver to recognize it.It has a intel cedar trail processor.
if the ssd not in the bios it could be the ssd bricked itself. if you can plug the ssd into a desktop trty running the ssd tools from the vendor web page and firmware update. if they dont see the drive then the drive may have died. if the drive works in another pc then you may have bent pin or a logic board issue with your laptop.
It's most likely the wrong mini SSD. The slot is a mini pci-e slot, but only some of them carry the sata signal. If this slot doesn't have the signal, you need a "real" PCI-E SSD and that might be hard to get.
You can find them on Ebay and the like (Used usually) If you can tell us what size you are looking for we might be able to lead you to a good one. (I'm assuming you would prefer new however due to the fact that they are old tech they may be hard to find new.)
