Hi everyone,
I have been for a couple of years now getting CRC errors and disk/file read errors and other error types associated with installation failures from CD-ROM but primarily from virtual drives when trying to install games and software. I have had to resort to installing them on my laptop then copying the installed files onto an USB/HD and then copying them onto my PC.
I have looked up why I keep getting cyclic redundancy checks and have not found a solution yet. I also notice when I try to unpack zipped files with WinZip or 7Zip on my PC they get read errors, but the same files unpacked on my laptop are successfully unpacked.
My current PC system is:
GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3 motherboard
Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q9650
Corsair Dominator 4GB PC2 8500 1066 MHz DDR2
1TB seagate HDD
GPU GeForce GTX 280
PSU Powercooler PS-880EM 850W
On a side note, I ran a memory test, as I have also been getting BOD for about the same time, and it turns out one of the RAM sticks are faulty. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the associated disc/file reading errors?
