Long start-up time after Win 8.1 update.

My desktop takes a very long time (30+ min) to get to the "lock screen" so I can log in. Does new user profile help this?

Update: The computer repair shop I took it to found some 8.1 update "hung out there" which he took care of and got things going again.

Hi, what would probably help is a fresh install of windows . You must be a very patient person because after 2 minutes I would have considered my PC broken. If a fresh install of Windows fails I'd suggest a new HDD or a SSD. If you don't have a SSD already it will breathe new life into your PC and make you wonder how you lived without one.
