This is for a friend,
Well i have just got my self a r9 270 (woo) and i am running a 2 monitor set up so i though considering i have a new card ill treat myself to another monitor :) so i got an VGA to DVI and i connected it up but the problem is when i then add my HDMI in it cancels my DVI to VGA out (now it does not cancel out my DVI) so im wondering if there is a quick fix or anything.
My specs are:
CPU: I5 4440 Haswell
Motherboard: Asus B85M-G
11GB DDR3 ram
GPU: Radeon R9 270
monitors are all different, one is 21inch, 19inch x2

Solution
Unfortunately AMD cards of that generation can support only 2 non-displayport monitors. As soon as you go beyond 2 monitors, they need to be connected either by displayport, or by an ACTIVE displayport to DVI or HDMI adapter (the "active" bit is key).

Plug in a HDMI monitor with an Active DP adapter (like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999032&cm_re=active_displayport_adapter-_-14-999-032-_-Product) and your DVI to VGA adapter will then work.

So i can use a dvi on one hdmi on ther and then a display on the 3rd monitor?

I mis-read your original post, thinking you were using two monitors in total.
You can use two DVI,HDMI or VGA connections.
Any extra monitors must be connected with DisplayPort, or if they do not support this an active adapter must be used.

By "Display" - you mean displayport right?
Monitor 1 -> DVI
Monitor 2 -> HDMI
Monitor 3 -> Displayport or ACTIVE DP to DVI or HDMI adapter

Max two non displayport monitors... does that make sense?
