Hi,
I just bought new PC with Samsung 840 EVO SSD drive and since I've never had any ssd before i wanted to try some benchmarks to see what kind of performance i can expect and I got some strange results.

When i use AS SSD i get very low speeds, especially writing is just too slow. (won't even comment on 4K writing speed )

When i use Crystal Disk the speeds are better, but some of them still seem pretty low(4K read)

And when I use Samsung magician I usually get the speeds I'm supposed to get, but quite a few times I've gotten like 550/270 MB/s R/W and 90K/30K IOPS Random R/W.

I tried all the settings for maximized performance from Magician and windows power settings, AHCI is on, disk is connected via SATA3 6Gb/s.

Is this normal SSD behaviour or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance!

What motherboard do you have? Make sure you're connected to the chipset SATA controller and not a secondary PCI lane controller.

I wanted to try it before but it wouldn't let me for some reason. I tried it again now and it seems to be working suspiciously well. :D  http://imgur.com/lHe9jfQ
