I am just starting with overclocking and i decided to start using this two guides:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1291703/i...s-motherboards

http://rog.asus.com/184142012/maximu...imus-v-gene/3/

My config:

Intel Core I5 3570k

Cooler Master Hyper 612 pwm simple fan

Mother Asus Gene Formula

4 Gb x 2 Ram Hyper X 1800mhz

EVGA Nvidea GTX 660

Case NZXT 410 Phantom Black

------------------------------------------
First test using Vcore 1.210 y Ratio 45:

Sin usar Prime 95:

http://prntscr.com/4qt85c

Usando Primer 95:

http://prntscr.com/4qt7ch

As you can see in this test the temp went to high.

After this test i removed the thermal paste, obviously cleaning micro and heatsink with alcohol isopropilico (this name is in Espanish).

--------------------------------------------

Second test using Vcore 1.210 y Ratio 45, and with the replace of the thermal paste:

Usando Primer 95:

http://prntscr.com/4sm5mc

Hear the temps went down in a test of 8 hs.

But when the test come to 12 hs this alert me a lot! The motherboard temp went to -62° at Asus Suite II.

I restart the pc went to BIOS and the temp of the mother was 29°, restart and went back to windows ---> Asus Suite ----> Sensor and the temps was 29°. I think this maybe be an error of sensor.

Is this normal?

http://prntscr.com/4sn7w7

--------------------------------------------

Is this my first overclocking do you suggest something? Good, Bad?

Should i change some configuration?

I have Load Line Calibration in High (not in Extreme)

Is convenient to overclock my rams? I have as AUTO.

The temps running Prime95 are normals or too high?

Any advice with THIS HARD to get lower temps?

Any suggestion of something you want to tell me?

I know i have made a lot of question, but is better to ask to say sorry.

Nidos, From Argentina!

I will really apreciated to some advices!

I like testing with occt.
I think it better reflects the average cpu usage.

You only need to test long enough to let the temperature rise to stability.
OCCT will shut down if temps exceed 85c.

I do not think your temps are too high for a stress test TXMAX is around 100c.
That is where the cpu will downclock or shut down to protect itself.

Temperatures are related to Vcore. As the multiplier is increased, the vcore also increases. At some point, the rise is exponential.
That is where you want to stop. A high vcore is not good for 24/7 operation, even if your cooler can control the temperature.

Remember, that under normal or high usage, you will not ever reach stress test levels.

As to ram, use the best XMP setting it supports and...

As to ram, use the best XMP setting it supports and leave it there. Ram does not impact real app performance. Faster operation comes with higher cas numbers, negating the value of faster speed. You are looking at 1-2% type differences.

Buena suerte.

Thanks a lot i will left the ram in auto becouse the ROG series dont have de XMP settings, the mobo auto config this ram.

I will do another test this evening with 4.4 and see whats the result are, and if the temp goes down a lot i will reduce de Ratio to 44.
