So, I just upgraded my PC to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7. When I ran the diagnostic it said that all of my hardware would transfer over. But when the installation was finished my Nvidia Graphics Cards is not being recognized. Instead my adaptor type is listed as "Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor"

But the adaptor information seems to be correct as it saying that my chip type is nvidia.

Any Suggestions?

Did you go to the nvidia website and install drivers for 8.1?

I tried to, and when it gets to the installer it says "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware"

Uninstall your GPU and then reinstall it, that should work. Make sure the PC is off obviously :)
