If you have XBMC you can use yatsee remote or other app that sets it up as a dlna server. You then just select share from your device and select send to xbmc.

As far as doing it from a laptop, you cant do it wihout buying specific hardware. Unfortunatly there is no good standards used universaly; different OEMs use different standards DLNA, Miracast, WiDi, etc and they require all devices in the chain to use that specific standard. Even then it can be a pain to get it to work right.

I have android phones/tablet, and the yatsee and youtube app.

From the youtube app I select share, then select the Yatsee app and it says "Send to XBMC" and then it plays on the XBMC.
