Hello, how are you?

I am in the market for a new PSU.
I was pretty much set on a XFX 1050w black edition pro series.
But then I came across a Lepa B1000-MB on a vendor for half the price of the XFX...
I know that in this life you pretty much get what you pay for... But anyway...
Any insight on the value of the Lepa? Is it a good PSU? Information is pretty vague on the web...
The psu is this:

Thanks and cheers!

The XFX is as good a PSU as you will find.

Lepa is all over the map - some excellent, some bottom-of-the-barrel, and everything in between. In the list on this forum, the rest of their B series is rated squarely in the middle, though the 1000W model is not on there.

Personally, I would stick with the XFX if it was between only those two.

What are you doing with your system? Do you really need 1000W?

As he said the models that are listed are Tier 2 and Tier 3 power supplies on the list below. For a 1000 watt PSU, I would stick to Seasonic ,XFX, or Antec. This Seasonic 1050 gold rated PSU is on sale at Newegg.com.

Some Lepa supplies are good, they have some good ones by Enermax and CWT, that supply however is made by Yue-Lin Electrical Technology(never heard of them before...... not a good sign) and is actually just a stupid design, the PSU should NOT be isolated from the case by rubber, the whole point is the screws holding it to the case ground the case through the PSU's housing, their Anti3s Q-Brick design can actually makes your case less safe......

You can pick up an EVGA 1kW G2 series PSU for a bit less than the Seasonic X-1050 so that'd probably be my pick, the X-1050 and the XFX 1050 are going to be the exact same PSU though so if it comes down to those two get which ever is cheaper

Hi, thank you for your replies.
My system is an I7 4790k, msi z97, 780ti, SSD and two mechanical hdds.
I will probably sell the 780ti and go 970 sli.
Since a psu is not something you buy everyday and can hold up a few generation upgrades, I am aiming to 1000w for that reason.

I'll look into the evga also, but the Lepa is off the shortlist.

Thank you.

Between these three options:
- seasonic x-1050 for 170 euros
- xfx black edition pro series 1050 for 150 euros
- evga supernova nex1000g2 for 120 euros

What is the best option and why?
For performance, durability and long term investment?

Thanks.
Cheers!

SuperNova G2, its cheaper than the rest, same level of power, better ripple and voltage suppression, longer warranty. The XFX 1050 and X-1050 only differ by the outer housing, the innards are identical, but they are a bit older than the G2 series. Only reason i would consider the XFX 1050 over the G2 1000 is if the length of the unit will be a problem for you, the EVGA is 7.9" long while the XFX is only 7.5"

I am a big fan of Seasonic power supplies. The Seasonic X1050 and XFX Black 1050 are both Tier 1 power suppies. The EVGA Supernova Nex1000g2 is a Tier 3 power supply. I have included the tiered power supply list. (The 1000 watt isn't listed but the others in the Nex series are listed as Tier 3)

I would still recommend the Seasonic or XFX.

I was having that problem last night, I cannot find a NEX 1000W PSU, let alone a NEX1000G2, the only 1000W G2 i can find is the superNova. Either the NEX1000G2 only exists in small limited markets or it doesn't exist, google hasn't returned definitive answer in either direction.

If I choose the EVGA Supernova G2:
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=...

The 1000w is 120 euros.
The 1300w is 140 euros.

For 20 euros more, is it worth to go for the 1300? Or is it too overkill and will actually be worse in performance matter?

Cheers and thanks.

I would spend the little extra fort the 1300w.

Won't affect performance.
