that price is unbelievably good for that computer. And you know what they say ... if it's too good to be true... It isn't true.

interesting, that computer is worth at least 2.5x more than the price you're getting it for. You should make sure it functions properly before handing over your money.

No, Windows 10 is not released. What's been released is a beta version (the tech preview).

Possibly that person installed Windows 10 preview and now has no idea how to revert it. You can just format the HDD and reinstall Windows.

Seeing as the Tech Preview has only been available for 2 days.....

Is this something you can touch and see, or it is just online somewhere?

that computer would be quite good for WoW, but only if it really had the advertised specs, and only if it was in proper working condition. We suggest that you verify that the computer works properly before paying for it.

So if it's a stranger selling it to you off the Internet, you may have to go check it out in person. Turn it on, try your game, and see if it functions as advertised.

What is the actual price here?
$1,000 US, or AED 1,000 ($272 US)

Windows 10 is in Enterprise preview. It means you cannot and should not attempt to use it in any production capacity. It will have bugs and the interfaces and device support (as well as possibly drivers) may be lacking at this time.

Ask him to show the computer to you. Make sure it boots up. Verify the components. and capacity or RAM, HDD, etc.

Then buy it, buy a copy of Windows 7 or 8.1 and install it on the computer to get a great computer for less than half the retail value.

So you suggest i turn it on, do 1 restart.. Then go right click my cumputer icon, and check if rams are 8, storage is 1tb , graphic card and everything mentioned is as it is? Thats all it takes to test??

If I were spending $1,000 on a potentially used PC, there are multiple other things I'd do:

Take the side panels off and check for dust
Boot and poke around in the BIOS
Boot from a bootable Linux live CD
Probably take my USB stick with multiple testing tools and see what happens. memtest, temperature monitors, drive health tools, etc, etc.

Basically 1/2 price for what is supposed to be 'brand new' raises all sorts of red flags to me.

note that this is ~US$ 272. In a country where component prices are supposedly more expensive than in the US. That's basically <25% of the build cost of those components new.

Yes, red flags abound.

Right.

Car analogy:
If you were offered an almost brand new car for 1/2 price, and you didn't feel confident enough in your inspection and mechanic skills to evaluate, what would you do?
Take a skilled, trusted, friend with you to check it out.

Same with this PC

Seeing as it is (or advertised as) brand new, does he have the receipts? .

Stolen parts.
Mislabeled parts.
Badly overused parts (ex-bitcoin mining rig)
The whole thing fell off the back of the truck...

If the actual 'price' is 1,000 Dirham ($272 US), run. Run away fast.

I'm falling off the truck laughing here. That missing zero lead to a lot of confusion. :)  THe newer price is much more reasonable. But WIndows 10 is *still* a red flag. Don't get it without getting installation disks for Windows 7 or 8.

For US prices, pcpartpicker calls it at under $850. Add another $100 for the mouse/keyboard.I don't know what the same parts would cost where you are.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3pFJBm

Add in a valid OS in either case.

This is an Asus computer isn't it?
Well about parts, prices in dubai are hell up .. I hardly managed to make a deal with a shop for the following:
I5 4690 k
R9 280 gpu
Z97-k mpu(k is the lowest in z97)
1 tb
8 kingkston gb ram
212 evo cooling
Corsair psu 750 w bronze
Corsair case 0.3
Windows 8.1

For the cost of 1000$ plus

Advice guyz?
Reminder: i am trying to get a tower to make me raid 25 men on ultra , world of warcraft

That was a random selection of equivalent parts (generally choosing the least expensive in each category), not a prebuilt ASUS.

Here is my best advice. If you are not, and cannot get someone that is, competent to evaluate that computer, you should probably not buy it. If you can afford to risk the money, then go ahead, there is a chance you've found a decent bargain. If that is so, make sure you can or know how to revert the computer back to Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Hello everybody,

I am writting this answer now as a result of all questions i opened about wow raiding.
I built the following computer:
1. Cpu: intel i7 4790k turbo 4.4 overclockable.
2. Gpu: R9 280 sapphire.
3. Z97-k 5x
4. 1tb
5. 8gb g-skill memory.
6. Thermaltake 750 w standard power supply.
7. No cooling system, only 2 fans in the case+ the fans of cpu amd gpu.

Result is : 60 fbs everywhere with shadow option on high and sharpen edges x8
Only time when fbs drops to 47 is on pulling bosses and thats only for few seconds then fbs jump back to 60..
I am so glad with this result
Total cost is 1100$
Did a raid for 4 hours, no heat issues were reported .

Hope this answer will help wow players.. I might add up an evo 212 for extra safe cooling thats all .

Have a nice day everyone ..
