Hello Community,
This is my first post here. I've used the website for a while for reviews and articles, but I need your opinions and help for my first build. I will list the specs below. Please let me know if I am missing any components. Thank you.

*Corsair Carbide Series 500R Arctic White Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case
*ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
*EVGA SuperClocked w/ ACX Cooling 02G-P4-2774-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0
*Intel Core i5-4590 Haswell Quad-Core 3.3GHz LGA 1150 84W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 BX80646I54590
*G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory
*Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit - OEM
*Antec EarthWatts Green EA-380D Green 380W Continuous power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified
*SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE250BW 2.5" 250GB SATA 6Gb/s 1x nm Samsung Toggle DDR 2.0 3-Bit MLC NAND Flash Memory
*ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner

In addition I am taking a few parts from my old PC. These include 2 WD hardrives and a Linksys Wireless Adapter.

Please review and let me know if I am missing anything. Possibly certain cables that do not come with the components. Is there anything that I should be replacing with a better product? The total is just under $1300 shipped. I appreciate all the help in advance.

Not sure where you are shopping where that comes out to $1300, but you might want to look elsewhere.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($225.98 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($32.99 @ Mwave)
Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97X Killer ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($132.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($144.00 @ Newegg)
Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($109.97 @ SuperBiiz)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card...
You have selected a Z motherboard which supports overclocking, but your CPU is not a K version. Was this deliberate?

16GB is great for very many open OS tabs at once, but 8 GB is sufficient for gaming.

The power supply for any system is the fuel for the motor. This build needs more power than 380 W of 80% power.

The new 970 and 980 Nvidia GPUs are more cost effective and power efficient.

Others will mention if your case has enough cooling for this build. I do not know.

Good to know about the PSU. How many watts do you recommend. I may have a 600 lying around. As for the GTX, I am more of a casual gamer, but I do use my PC often and for everything (i.e. work, entertainment, gaming) so I like it to be good but I dont necessarily need the best. Thank you.

Look at my build above. It isn't the best, but it is far better system for the money. $1300 is way too much for what you had listed.

This is extremely helpful. I guess I will go ahead and place the order. Are there any other cables or necessities I've missed?

if you are going for gtx 770 or gtx 970 the psu you are getting is not at all enough you should have a good 650 watt psu with more than 42 amps for gtx 770 and 500 watt psu with more than 30 amp for gtx 970.

dont go for gtx 770 if you are buying a new card then always go for a newer and better version.
go with what logainofhades have given you its a proper build if you are not comfortable with the overclocking part then get the i5 4690 with the h97 board minus the after market cpu cooler it will save you 50-60 $ at least.

I think I will be going the the 970. I know I will not use its "full potential", but the mere fact that its new, better and more powerful to means helps me believe it will last longer. I will also not be overclocking anything. The computer will be more powerful than my needs. Thanks again everyone.

you are welcome .
if you are not going to OC then get the i5 4690 with a h97 motherboard and no need for an aftermarket cooler.
good luck.
