It means that although the Coolermaster GX is good for the wattage on its label, it wanders out of spec under heavy loads. So, don't try to pull any more than 600W out of it, even though it's labeled for more, or your system may become unstable.
Hopefully that is just a symptom of a short circuit. Recheck all of your power connectors.
It is also possible that you killed your system with static. A vacuum-cleaner (i.e. a Hoover) should never be used to clean dust out of a PC. Dust moving up the hose will create destructive static. Use a pressurized duster (outdoors on a good day) to blow it out.

A 550W PSU is sufficient for a HD7970 (that's what I used with mine for the few months I mined with it). It must be a quality PSU however. What you've got may have a "900W" label on it, but may be good for half that. A PSU built by Seasonic (their own, XFX, some Antec), or Superflower (Rosewill Capstone, 80+ gold EVGA) will be good for what is on their label (and then some). Note that the commonly-available and inexpensive Corsair "CX" and "GS" units are not good PSUs. Initially good for their labels, they contain inferior Samxon capacitors that degrade rapidly.
