Dear all
I was skyping on my toshiba satellite l300 laptop and it suddenly gone completely off. After this I was trying to switch it on but its not showing any signs of life. If I connect it to power the led of power and battery are lighting green, and when I press the power button the power LED blinks once and thats it, no sound from the fan or hard disk at all, and ofcourse no display.
I dont have any idea what happened to it?
Can anyone of you please help and advise? Is this a major problem? (I can disassemble and assemble it.)
Thanks
Ash

I had something similar on an Acer a few years back. I confirmed that the hard drive was connected and still working. Check that the battery is inserted fully. Make sure the RAM has not popped out.

In the end, I figured it was a motherboard issue, and it was past warranty, so I tossed it.

Hope it works out.

Do the fans make any noise when plugged in while the green LED is on? Btw give more details on what could be wrong.

No sound from fan. I feel that it could be motherboard issue. I have tried usual trouble shooting with and without battery. Could it be transformer?

Replacement motherboards on laptops do not come cheap. It could be a motherboard issue I am not sure how ever in my experience even when the motherboard goes the fan still spins.

In most cases, the cost of a new motherboard for a notebook is close to the cost of a new notebook, making it totally not worth it.
