Hi, I have GTX 550 Ti on my mobo now and I wanna replace it with something that will last a long time.
I've been thinking about the gtx 770 but then the 970 came out.
I wanna know which of them is better for gaming?
Will they both work at 100% on P8P67-m Pro mobo?
And is it ok if I will plug them to the 2nd PCIe_16 slot on my mobo?

More about : gtx 970 gtx 770

The 970 is better than a 780 , that should answer your question.

The GTX 970 is by far the best option.

to answer your other question, no you should not plug it into the second slot. replace your 550Ti with a 970. Then sell the 550Ti to recoup some of the cost of the 970 :)

Yes, the GTX970 should go in your first PCI X 16 slot. Remove the old graphics card

But I have a problem using the first one because it's a small mobo and my cpu cooler is too big so it blocks the first slot...
Also, the 2nd slot ios PCI x16 too... Isn't that ok?

It will work on the second slot , but it may be at x8. If the first slot is unpopulated, it may run at x16. Consult your manual to find out for sure.

I've checked for the manual, if the first is unplugged the 2nd one is PCI x16. Therefore, if I plug the GPU to the PCI x16 slot, it will work at 100% regardless of my mobo?

The main thing in this situation is to use a PCI Express x 16 slot. Nearly all motherboards (gaming oriented) in the last half dozen years have been PCI Express x 16 2.0 or 3.0. The 3.0 version is about 5% faster than the version 2.0. So, your motherboard should be fine with the new GTX 970 graphics card. If you do have to replace it, then get the latest version of PCI Express x16.
