Today I finally started to build my new system. I followed every step precisely but it just won't turn on. The 8 pin cpu cable is connected, as well as the 24 pin. I know the power supply works. The only thing I can't figure out is that all of the tutorials show these 2 pin connecters such as power switch and LEDs being plugged in to a 7 pin spot on the motherboard. My power supply did not come with these, nor did the motherboard. Would these come with the case, and are they even fundamental to starting the pc? (I'm trying to test it breadboard right now - the case hasn't come in yet)

Well yer thats where the pwr/gnd wires go to turn the thing on if you have a case. If the front of the case had a power / hdd LED, thats where it goes

If its got a pwr and gnd on this thing short it with a screwdriver. This will also turn it on. If everything is connected

The manual will tell you WHAT they are and what they do. Read it

They use something with metal contact to short the Power SW on the motherboard by touching it real quick.
