Hello all I was thinking about upgrading my gpu(s). I currently have 2 evga gtx 660's running in SLI. While the performance increase is really nice, it is unfortunate that not all of the games I play utilize SLI or at least are not optimized for it. World of Tanks is the main culprit. While the game does have an SLI profile, it seems to make little difference than running one card. When active, both cards are being used at anywhere from 50-75%- where as with one card it is at 100%. In that game I average around 45-55 FPS with everything maxed out. I realize that SLI is finicky and not everything can utilize it. I was thinking about upgrading to a gtx 980 or 970- the increase in RAM would be nice too. Would the 970 be a worthy upgrade? Even from the games which do utilize SLI wonderfully? BTW I am playing at 1080p resolution so the 980 might be overkill. I am also thinking of playing shadows of mordor which I know is demanding on VRAM. Anyways the rest of my specs are:- AMD fx-8350 oc'd to 4.5 ghz with h100i cooler
- ASUS sabertooth 990fx r2.0 mobo
-2x EVGA gtx 660 2GB
-16 gb corsair dominator platinum RAM at 1600mhz
-2x samsung evo 120gb ssd in raid 0
-EVGA supernova 750 watt power subbly
(I don't have any plans for the near future for anything over 1080p btw)
