I have 2 programs skype and spotify that keep autostarting after they have been disabled in msconfig and services why is this happening? I have checked both do not run at startup on both programs and in msconfig selective startup is checked. I used CCleaner, and Soluto to get rid of these it does work after initial reboot and the programs do not start but then when I shutdown and startup the next day they come back again. What could possibly make these two programs ignore 3 services all telling it not to autorun at startup? Any help would be appreciated this is really annoying. Thanks

Yes I already looked there in the registry and tried modifying the files and renaming them. That only worked temporarily as soon as both programs updated it could not recognize them and I had to reinstall both. I checked the options to turn off at startup inside both programs. MSconfig shows both disabled with a date yet they still open anyway. It is very strange. I see this problem happening to many users but disabling them in msconfig usually works but on my system it's only temporary.

I do that already as well after they startup. I see them right away and have to go into task manger and kill the processes because they still run in the background if I don't. I have uninstalled them and reinstalled them with the options to not run at startup checked. Still comes back. I do use and need the programs so uninstalling them completely is not an option. I just don't want them running every time I boot up only when I need them just like every other program I have that I only access occasionally. They all work fine that way and do not run at startup. I think both of these programs are setup purposely this way with the auto run function always enabled whether you check it off or not.
