Hi guys, recently I couldn't play any games as my PC will crash and restart, after a while I thought of doing the furmark test and it showed my graphics card (gtx 660) reaching 80c, is there any way of lowering the heat without actually touching the GPU because I can't buy any thermal paste ect. Something like MSI afterburner (which I just downloaded might help). There's no trace of dust anywhere on my PC by the way

I think its same as mine gtx 770, they are designed like that, they wont go more than 80C. I think that something else in your system is overheating or maby psu related problem. whats your cpu tems?

Hi there, I have been considering it might be a PSU problem as here's my specs
Gtx 660 fx 6300
450w bequiet! PSU
Also once I quit furmark the temps reach 21c within a matter of seconds

gtx 660: Thermal and Power Specs:
97 CMaximum GPU Tempurature (in C)
150 WMaximum Graphics Card Power (W)
450 WMinimum System Power Requirement (W)

and cpu req atleast the same type of psu, but have to be a good quality one, cheap ones are dangerous for your self and your PC...as i read in most forums :)

I should rephrase the question, are you using a reference cooler or is it a custom model, maybe one with two fans? How are you monitoring your GPU temperatures? Usually, a program like Afterburner, PrecisionX, or GPU-Z will also have a readout of your fan speeds.

Well as far as I know the tempreture reaches 85c then crashes, the CPU can reach 60c under load. The PC displays a row of colours makes a strange wnoise both from the graphics card and speakers then restarts, also the fans go loud

The question is, what speed is the fan running when set to Auto and your temp is at 85c? It's necessary to determine if the problem is with your fan. High temperatures could be due to many factors, mostly involving airflow, but a bad fan is one. Like I said, 80c is normal is your fan is running at mid-60% speeds, but it's bad if your fan is running at 85% or even if its running too slow at 25%.
