I'm also looking for a cheap gaming laptop atm, i can get a better one ($2k) in like 6 months but need something cheap for now since mine broke, i only really need it for minecraft though.

I found this one and asked about it here but no replies yet... http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-V3-572G-587W-15-6-Inc...

It looks decent but idk really, good price :3

I would say the laptop that CoolBeans222 is good for both of you. It should be able to play skyrim with no problem and minecraft is even easier for it.

i got my amd a10-4600m equipped hp m6 laptop from bestbuy on clearance for $399 back in holidays 2012. if you search around, you can find similar amd power laptops with the a10 trinity or richland. my laptop plays vanilla skyrim very well on medium at 720p. most laptop resolutions are 1366x768. if your trying to play at ultra 1920x1080 resolution on a laptop in the under $700 range im afraid that is not going to be possible.

as for the acer aspire linked from cool beans. i think that is a solid laptop at a decent price. it does use a maxwell gt840m which is definitely gaming capable, and its got a low power i5 dual core haswell cpu.

but i must admit that last week at newegg i saw an i7 quad core haswell with a gt750m gddr5 and a 1080p screen for $750. though you wouldn't use the 1080p resoultion for gaming on the laptop, 1080p screens on laptons are much much better at color/contrast/viewing angles than the common 1366x768 screens you see in other laptops. the gtx750m gddr5 is definitely noticeably faster than the gt840m ddr, and it should come to no surprise that the i7 quad core is much much faster than the dual core i5. paying roughly $100 more for all these features is flat out really good bang for buck.

considering the price of that now dead deal... hopefully it can give you a general idea of what a smoking hot deal could be, especially if you were willing to shell out roughly $750, or just keep your eyes pealed for a better deal on something similar to the acer that coolbeans originally linked.

cheers.
