Tom's Hardware, you've been so kind to me and I ask your help again.
These past few days my internet has been extremely buggy.
Check it out:

If I'm not mistaken, that's bad right? I think my modem is outdated, since I got it around 2008-09 and haven't upgraded since. What do you guys think?

Your internet speed is based upon what "package" you buy from Cox communications (I am assuming that is who you have). If you are paying for the 5Mbps down and 1Mpbs up, you are getting exactly what you are paying for. If you are paying for the 50Mbps down/10Mpbs up, you have an issue....

Well I know I'm not paying for 5Mbps download and 1Mbps upload. What could it be besides that?

Typical packages are 5/1, 10/1, 20/2, 30/3, 50/10 for most providers (up/down speeds). I live in Austin, and they have increased to 50/5, 100/10, 200/20 and 300/20.

Once you told me about the packages I decided to double check it and it turns out I was actually getting the 5/1 deal. So I just upgraded to the 50/5 which kind of irks me as why would you charge 16 dollars more for a package that's more than 5x better...
