New graphics card, black screen on bootup

I bought a prebuilt computer off of Newegg about a year back

and have just recently purchased

VGA ASUS R9270-DC2OC-2GD5 R

After switching out my old card for the new one, when I bootup my computer the monitor is a black screen, the fans run and the mouse and keyboard light up, aswell as the green light indicator on the card itself. I have already sent this card back for potential DoA but they returned it and stated there was nothing wrong with the card. Please help

They claim a 600W power supply....do you know the brand?

Also - did you plug in both power connectors to the card from the PSU?

Per ASUS' website- this card requires up to 150W power delivered via 6 pin PCIe connector - is that connected?

yes I have connected the 6 pin connectors to the card, with it plugged into my machine but not powered the light is red, but with power the light is green, and the power supply is Xtreme gear

does your motherboard have an 8 PIN connector with only 4 pins currently connected?

Everything is connected currently, I have an atx 4 pin not an 8 pin

Hmmm this is getting good. When you boot do you see the CMOS load screen? If you don't, plug your monitor into your ONBOARD video output - if that is ON, then leave that connected and reboot - then go into your CMOS settings and disable your onboard video and set the default to 'PCIE video card. Try that and let us know!

Tried this and when it first booted up nothing happened, but my computer quickly restarted, and then rebooted, all the while with no screen imagery

Pull the card, try resetting CMOS then install the card and try booting

I can't get to my cmos on my integrated graphics card and only my old card works, its a Nvidia Geforce GTX 650

CMOS on the motherboard (in your manual it will point out a mobo jumper and instructions - else simply unplug the PSU and remove the mobo battery for a couple of minutes (will have to reset date and time if reset works)

When you reset your CMOS please be sure to disconnect the power cord supplying power to your power supply- please clarify and let us know!

I disconnected almost every individual cord from my motherboard, the battery and let it sit for a half hour, I then plugged everything in and then started launching with my onboard card, reset my bios and rebooted and then plugged in my new card, but still there is no picture. It restart a couple times every time I boot my computer with the new card, but no picture althroughout

Have you contacted CYberPower? they may have something special you have to do (do you have a mobo outlet for graphics you can try so you can possibly get into BIOS and check what primary graphics is set to?

I just did my first build. A msi motherboard z97i ack with a gtx 980 msi graphics card. When I turned it on the first time i got a black screen. So i ran through everything. Come to find out it was my graphics card. After all was said and done i wint into the bios and found the integrated graphics bus i turned it up to mach the card. Saved and exit shut down and reinstalled my graphics card. And everything worked after that. So hopefully this will help you
