I saw this cheap motherboard that claims its compatible and tested with the i7. I was wondering if anybody have any reviews or insight on this product? I did my research but I can't seem to find anything on this. And also I saw a used Sabertooth x58 about 2 years old for sale and was wondering what peoples thoughts were on these products. Here is the link; http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-SABERTOOTH-X58-LGA1366-Socket-/171477546550?pt=Motherboards&hash=item27ecdbb636

This is more of the average pricing but I would assume its in great condition considering it's labeled as "new".

Here looks to be a good board that is about $50 cheaper than the Asus.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-X58-LGA-1366-141-BL-E757-RX-Motherboard-/301331285140?pt=Motherboards&hash=item4628be8494

And here is a quality Gigabyte board for only $100, but has less features than the EVGA board in the link above. It just doesn't have USB 3.0, and only supports 16 gigs of ram.

Used boards are usually prohibitively expensive. Considering they are used and old tech, I would avoid both of them, especially the HP branded board. Although you may not be able to afford the newest, highest end equipment, doesn't mean you can't buy new and still get good performance.

I'm planning to use the i7 950, I also have a Asus 6850 GFX card, and a 750 watt PSU. The motherboard was giving me blue screens then out of nowhere my computer never turned on so I brought it to GEEK SQUAD and they helped me figure out the problem of my setup and they told me my motherboard was the problem. So I'm looking to replace it. I was satisfied with the computer performance hence why I don't want to invest a ton of money into a newer system.

So for the most start, stay away from the Pegatron ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-Pegatron-HP-Motherboard-Intel-X58-LGA1366-Supports-Core-i7-TESTED-/181524968634?pt=Motherboards&hash=item2a43bb34ba )

And invest on the Asus P6T SE Priced at $200 ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-P6T-SE-Motherboard-Intel-X58-Express-LGA-1366-Socket-B-DDR3-ATX-/281442219404?pt=Motherboards&hash=item418743758c )

This one seems well-priced for the mobo but it is used. Thoughts on this? Priced at $100 ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-SABERTOOTH-X58-LGA1366-Socket-/171477546550?pt=Motherboards&hash=item27ecdbb636 )

I agree with maestro. I would go with the Sabertooth. But after reading about it, I wouldn't go with that one. Only 5 Ram slots work, and he used some kind of weird non conductive gel. I personally would rather keep looking for something in a bit better condition.

I know from experience, if you have a little patience when buying used/older parts, you will eventually run across a good deal...sometimes soon than others. I suggest to keep looking for another couple days.

On the original board, does it pass post, if so you may consider checking the RAM. No offense to geek squad but they are not exactly top notch tech's. Many of my colleagues were shot down for jobs simply because and I quote "were too qualified."
Considering the price on boards with that socket you may have better luck buying a new one. Selling the CPU you already have to someone with that socket and spending the same $200+ you would on a new board, you could buy a current gen board and new i5-i7 CPU.
A good example if you order from Micro-Center is http://www.microcenter.com/site/brands/intel-processor-bundles.aspx . You get a current Gen i7 and a brand new board for $150 more then your are already considering spending. You can easily pitch that CPU you have for that much.

(A note I should have mentioned was to look at the i7 4790k)
