Hello

Here is my problem and I am no computer newbie, cant resolve this one tho.

After bootup Windows works for about 5 seconds and freezes. Safe mode works perfectly. Now here is the tricky part, i tried to reinstall windows and it crashes also, usually at the start of the install. Tried win7 and 8.1 both original both crashed.

Things i have tried:
Ram test
Tested ram one by one
Deleted all drivers in safe mode
Deleted all anti-virus programs
Deleted virtual cd programs
Rearranged the cables
Bios reset
Changed sata cables

I have: asrock 970 extreme r2, fx6300 black edition, radeon 7950, samsung evo 840 100gb ssd, 500 gb normal drive, 2x 4gb ram dont remember the manufacturer.

Had this problem one time 2 weeks ago but it freezed at the boot logo at the same position, reinstalled windows and it was fine.

You make no mention of the PSU or whether you've tested the hard drives.

Run Seatools for windows on the drive. Run the short DST. Run the long generic.

What is the brand and model number of your PSU?

Double check your default storage device options in BIOS, perhaps something is wrong in the device settings.
