I want buy Pentium G3258 CPU, Asus H97M-E Mobo & Asus GTX 750ti 2GB OC GPU... Is that compatible? I heard that Pentium G3258 has unlocked multiplier which it need Z type Mobo like Z97... It is true? Actually I don't plan to overclock the CPU... Thanks.

It'll work but it may need a BIOS update first. It needs BIOS 2001 to support it.

I've got the same mobo but the CPU before that (3240). No you can overclock on the H97 mobos inc this one

If you have no plans to overclock, then it really doesn't matter.

I'm really wait this kind of answer.. So it mean I can use the Pentium G3258 on that Asus H97M-E Mobo isn't? So they are compatible also to Asus GTX 750ti 2GB OC? Thanks again.

The H97M-E and G3258 ARE compatible.

BUT, you may have to update the BIOS on this motherboard so it'll support that CPU. So if youre going to buy it, I would get whoever or wherever its coming from to flash the BIOS first

I thought G3258 is Haswell Refresh so H97M-E (include others H97 & Z97) will not need update BIOS anymore because I read at the wikipedia only B85, H81, H87, Q85, Q87 & Z87 need BIOS update for Haswell Refesh. Is that true?

CPU Motherboard & Your Graphics card all are compatible with each other. No issue
but i advice you to go with Core i3 4th gen cpu. It has hyper threading technology & it supports DDR3-1600Mhz RAM
Pentium G3258 supports only DDR3-1333Mhz RAM & do not have hyper threading feature.

I advice because your choice gives you bottleneck in performance.

It's experience like watching movie from corner seat.

It is a haswell refresh. BUT it'll be more recent than the H97M-E.

This CPU would have been released after the mobo. The mobo is probably 6-9 mths old. And with most of the recent CPU's like the Haswell refresh CPU's, I doubt very much that the mobo when you buy it, will have the right BIOS on it to support it

I could be wrong, but if the right BIOS isnt on it when you get it, its not going to turn on / do anything.

So it'd be safer or better if you ask the sender (if they can ) to flash it before they send it. Then it will work

There's been like maybe 6-7 posts in here with this exact prob. They buy high-end CPU's only to find out the mobo doesn't support the CPU without a BIOS update. They send it back / RMA because they think its DOA. It isnt. They receive the replacement, the same thing. It wont go

Thanks especially for the G3258 only support DDR3-1333Mhz memory type.. It help me a lot.. Now I know the weakness of the CPU really sad to hear that..

Actually I use PC always for Microsoft Office documents either Word & Excel, sometimes for watching movie, access to the internet and playing few PC games like Pro Evolution Soccer, Medal of Honor and Total War series... Is that all right with those purpose I get only the G3258 CPU, H97M-E Mobo and GTX 750ti 2GB OC GPU without bottleneck or lagging?
