Hello, I recently got cable internet and I bought a router from a store. When I installed everything the Internet wouldn't work on my pc, but it would on my phone. Then I looked into the FAQ and saw that the solution for this is to go to Network Connections in Control Panel and put a specific IP address which was given to me. Now, when I've done that, the internet won't work on my phone, it just won't connect, but it does on my PC. People from the cable internet company won't help me because router is not theirs, and the people from the store don't know what might be the problem

Solution
Is the router a DHCP server and is it configured correctly? You normally shouldn't have to use a static IP address on your PC if the router is configured properly. Does your phone connect to the Internet if the PC is powered off?

Check the IP address of your phone and make sure you haven't assigned the same one to your PC. As an example, if both are assigned IP address 192.168.1.2, then one device won't connect to the Internet.
