Have a problem. We have an application that's browser based (site..app.com) and hosted in a customer network. It must use the external address for access so it redirects to the site name as it should. Internal people just use a host file pointing to and internal address.....great. But one user takes a laptop home and back. The network has no DNS server so she can't access it when in the office as it hits the site and times out due to redirect.

Is there a wireless access point (off the shelf) that has some basic DNS or are we going to have to run DNS on a server?

Do you have a DHCP server running for the local clients?

The DHCP server allows the use of an Automatic Configuration Script for Proxy- and other settings. I'm just to lazy right now, to thing about how that works for you, but you may find help on Google.

What does a link to Internet Explorer have to do with it? Why answer or post if you're too lazy?

I had a hunch there wouldn't be any viable solutions presented.

It's a link, that explains how to set the system wide Internet options in Windows. And if you are to lazy to follow the hints, you may better call a local network expert for help.
