Well, I bought my Gtx 780 ti classy back in Feb and now the 980 is out with 4GB of mem and its mighty tempting since a lot of the newer games coming out are asking for 4GB of VRAM. Anyways, my question is this; should I go for the newer 4GB gtx 980 or go with another gtx 780 ti classy nowthat their prices have dropped?

As far as a single monitor is concerned, for FHD, a single 780 Ti is plenty, you're only looking for extra frames with SLI. Single 980 would be slightly better FPS wise, nothing more performance wise. I'd advise to hold on right now and upgrade when you upgrade the monitor to 1440p, the 4GB VRAM will come handy there, but only in few games like Crysis and WD. SLI 780 Tis, provided you have the right MoBo and PSU, would be better than single 980, but the question is, how much when you're already getting comfortable 50+ FPS on maxed out settings with single 980. No need to upgrade right now IMO.
GTX 780 Ti SLI would kill a single GTX 980 in every single way, except VRAM of course, its mighty powerful. But this depends on what monitor setup do you have. For a single FHD, 780 Ti doesn't make much sense over a single 980. For multiple monitors, 980's VRAM would be a plus point, but 780 Ti SLI would outclass it in terms of power. For 1440p or 4k, SLI setup would be good, but then, VRAM!

@MeteorsRaining so far I'll be sticking with a single monitor for lack of space, i might later upgrade to a wide screen 1440p display but never multiscreens.

@xsamaru, @rockie_ I am actually a fan of single GPU setups, but I just didn't want to let my current gpu go to waste, especially when it's less than a year old and still delivers a kick in performance. So yeah, my worries are about whether an sli config of 6GB is better than a single gpu with 4GB. And thank you all in advance. You guys rock!
