I'm having a really weird issue where I'm getting absolutely awful performance playing the original Crysis. Playing at a 1440 by 900 resolution (even though my display is 1080p) I am getting 15-30 fps playing on medium, with no AA. Needless to say, this wasn't what I was expecting from my two month old, $560 graphics card (it's worth noting that I can play Crysis 3 at 1080p on very high, with no AA and get 40-60 FPS consistently). I googled this several times, and haven't really come up with anything. Anyone had any similar issues in the past, or have any ideas as to how I might solve this?

Thanks, Sam

Have you updated Crysis 1 with all the patches? They are not hosted by them as far as I recall, making it hard to find outside of Google.

If you bought it on disc, these may work:

Without the patches, the game is unplayable.

Upon inspection of the crysis.exe file, it shows as 1.1.1.6156. Downloading 1.2 and 1.2.1 now! Will let you know how it goes.

Apparent;y, 1.1.1.6156 represents patch 1.2.1. So, it is indeed fully updated. Crysis warhead also does the same thing. Is there anyway it would be trying to use the Intel HD graphics on my 4690?

That sounds like the most likely problem.
