I have don't what i my motherboard model and the socket
I need to know if i can run a amd processor right now i have an intel pentium G2020 for a cpu when i look at my system i says

First, you can't install an AMD CPU into an Intel motherboard, and vice versa. Second, you have a Socket 1155 Intel motherboard. The fact it's OEM mains you mostly like will be limited to what CPU you can upgrade too. Might be easier to rebuild with new motherboard and CPU.

Gigabyte, Asrock ech makes mother board that has a socket for itel only and for amd only is that what you mean is there aboard witch can run both

The best way to know your PC specifications that is download and run the cpu-z. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html It will show you all you what to know, like cpu, mb, ram, gpu.

runswindows95 is right, you can't use the intel cpu in the amd motherboard or other intel socket motherboard. g2020 is the intel Ivy Bridge, you need the MB like H77, B75, etc.

Sorry, I mean you can't use intel cpu on the AMD MB or use the AMD cpu in the intel MB.

Do you have the intel pentium G2020 ? or will you buy the intel pentium G2020 ? Because you have the new model H61 MB, H61M-DS2 4.0. you can use the G2020, also you can use either one of them from the cpu support list. Yes I have the G2020 as my cpu right now so i can run a Core i7-3770K just in case i want to update my cpu or should i just update my motherboard

Yes, you can use the i7 3770K with H61M-DS2 4.0, but I think you waste too much money on the i7 377K if you build the PC for games. In other hand if you really buy the i7 3770K you are better to buy the Z77 MB.

If you don't buy the i7 cpu yet, don't buy it for games, i5 will be more than enough. get the i5 3470.

if i upgrade my cpu to a i5 3470 how much fps in gaming would i get

1) Depends on what games you play, and what monitor you use.
2) If you use it with the i5 3470, it will bottleneck the i5.
