Hi,
I bought the 250gb Samsung Evo SSD yesterday and attempted to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 onto it. But I am running into some issues. Firstly I have a 1TB WD HDD which I used previously. When I first plugged the ssd in, I went into the BIOS and changed the sata port I have it situated to AHCI, I then booted up through the HDD and installed the Samsung Magician software. All going well so far. After attempting to clone my HDD which was only 180GB to the SSD twice, it would not boot. I changed the boot priorities in the BIOS so the ssd booted up first but it stated that the boot device was inaccessible. So after searching around a lot and finding nothing I decided that a fresh copy of Windows would be easier. I put in my Windows 7 disk which is OEM by the way, and tried to boot from the cd. This worked but when it came to the loading bar screen where it loads files it did not load and instead switched to an error screen which stated: "A recent hardware or software change could be the issue" It then tells me a set of instructions to put in my Windows 7 disk and restart. But my disk is already in the machine! I tried changing the Sata port it was on, I tried disconnecting the HDD, and then tried to see if it would work with just the HDD. So I unplugged the SSD and restarted but again the same error came up. I took out the disk and the HDD booted just fine. I also tried the disk on another machine to see if that was the issue but the disk worked perfectly on that machine. So know I really am out of ideas, and help would be really appreciated!

Solution

try downloading the Windows on a USB flash drive and make it a bootable one , if it installs then you've got a bad disk.
Set the sata port to IDE , it should install .

I tried doing this but when I went to install I got a different error this time which tells me that the application or software is corrupted or missing when it clearly isn't

What is the brand and model of your motherboard?

You mentioned you tried cloning twice. Cloning applications work reasonably well; however, sometimes glitches develop. That's why a fresh clean install is the preferred method. Did you perform a secure erase before trying to do a fresh clean install?
