I'm looking for a good CPU cooler below $40 to replace the stock cooling on my FX-6300. I would prefer if the suggestions were based on bang for the buck, not buck only or bang only. Any ideas?

Cooler Master 212 Evo. Been suggested about a bazillon times for good budget cooling. It's about $30.

The first, and perennial soln is CM Hyper EVO 212, powerful, $30, great to cool any FX.
A bit quieter soln will be NZXT Respire T40.
Noctua L9a if want more quietness.

Well ok, I was expecting that. But what about the 212 Plus?

It isn't as strong as the evo, but the temperature difference isn't going to be big. If it's much cheaper ($10) than the evo, then go for it. You may lose a 100mhz oc.
