Hi, I'm building a new rig for a friend and I saw a Corsair CS650M Plus Gold PSU at a very good price.

I went through some online calcultors and they give me around 550W recommended PSU but it's nice to be sure if it's enough power.

System:
Intel Core i5-4460 3.2Ghz
Asrock H87M Pro4
Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO CPU Cooler
G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1333 PC3-10666 8GB 2x4GB CL7
Sapphire R9 280 Dual-X OC 3GB GDDR5

Plus a case with 2 120mm fans and 1 or 2 HDDs.

r9 280 has a TDP of 200 watt the CPU has a TDP of 84 watt other parts max of 100 watt .

So yes with a good 550 watt PSU with 25 amps or more your system will run fine.

VX corsair is a good product and haswell compatible however discontinued! the S12II 520w suggested will suffice but isnt haswell compatible.could be an option though since C6/C7 cpu sleep states can be disabled through bios.!
