Hello Tomshardware, I do indeed hope you have a solution for me..

I just installed a new motherboard:
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z97X-Gaming 7 (SOCKET 0)

And I got it all up working except, I now have an extremely annoying static noise in my headset at all times. I've even tried to turn ALL volume down, and I mean ALL to 0, but the static noise is still there.

To be sure I hadn't broken my headset, I tried to put the stick in up front of the pc, where there was no noise at all (My microphone doesn't work there though, and the sound seems to fall out once in a while), so I would like a more permanent solution.

It is getting real frustrating and I have no idea what I should do..

Help :(

Should pinpoint the sound gets worse when the PC is doing stuff like playing games and playing music

Found out myself: Used the wrong jackstick. Used the Realtek software to change around on which sound device to use. The static sound is not completely gone, but at a level where it's rarely noticed
