Hi guys, I'm having trouble connecting to my home wifi. I have a Motorola Atrix HD. At work it connects just fine but at home I have a Belkin wireless router and I've never had any issues connecting to it on my old phone which was a Motorola Atrix 2. When it connects to Wifi it has the wifi symbol in BLUE on the top corner of my phone but for some reason at home it stays in white. But every once in a while it turns blue but it still can't connect to any sites or download any apps. I have looked info up and they say to press the WPS button on my router and it just adds a new connection on my wireless connection lists on my phone.

I've also seen in other threads stating that some cell phones won't connect if the wireless is 5 GHz. What does this mean? (ex. Is your WiFi 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz because moth phones wont connect to 5 GHz.)

Also next to the name of my wireless network on my Wifi list on my phone it says "Secured with WPA/WPA2 (WPS available)"

I would greatly appreciate someones help. Thanks

Your phone must be capable of connecting to the specific wireless type and security that you have.

There are two different sets of frequencies used for wifi: 2.4GHz and 5GHz, and devices must be capable of connecting to the specific frequency used. But it sounds like your phone will work with your network since it sees the signal.

It seems that your phone is trying to tell you that you are using WPA or WPA2 wireless security and that Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is available that only requires a pin code. WPS actually makes your network insecure as it is easily hacked.

Since your phone actually sees the network, you just need to enter the security passphrase to access the network. Take a look at your phone manual for how to enter...

Since your phone actually sees the network, you just need to enter the security passphrase to access the network. Take a look at your phone manual for how to enter the code into the phone. If you didn't write your wireless security code down, you can get it from your router like THIS.
