Ok i just bought the Corsair H105 and a 4790k i removed the stock tim and replaced with NT-H1. I-plugged the pump on the CPU fan header and configured the bios to set it to full speed.

My Idle temps are: 32 28 29 30 sometimes it could go as high as 36 33 33 34.

My load temps when playing either BF4 and GTA IV are 47 51 52 49

My load temps when i ran Prime 95 small ffts for around 4 minutes is 65 63 64 59

My question is: Is this normal? or i have to reseat the pump? I remember when the first time I seated it, it plunged back but i still went on and screwed the pump even after first contact.

And another thing i noticed.. The corsair logo doesn't seem to look straight. it's angled clockwise by 5-7 degrees? it looks awkward. Ill post the picture after a few minutes.

PS: Room Temperature when i was testing was around 26-29 degrees.

Did i made the right choice of choosing Noctua NT-H1 over Prolimatech PK-1? Their price difference is only 50 cents.

I know it's wrong but is it a really big deal in that i didnt use alcohol when i remove the pre applied tim? i just used clean cloth and wiped it a lot until it just looks a little cloudy but smooth. then i placed a small amount of nt-h1 in the middle and mounted the pump, it bounced back after first touch though but istill went on and screwed. i'm worried if it has airpockets trapped?

SR blackbird: does the corsair 105 logo really look like that after mounting? looks 5-10 deg offset clockwise? I have a clear side panel and i can really notice it. hehe

You must have done a decent job rubbing it off , because temps are good.

Using the alcohol would have been the right choice , but your lucky , you have good temps.

ill try to run small ffts for 1 hour and observe if temps goes beyond 60+. with a stock clocked i7 4790k and h105 what do you think would be the optimal temps for small ffts for 1 hour. And i also noticed that sometimes when i'm browsing sites etc without any other programs running, the core 0 is offset to other cores by around 4-5 deg. it's like 35 30 30 31. and sometimes when i'm not doing anything at all, temps jump from 33 30 30 31 to 34 38 39 35 for 1-2 seconds and goes down again? is this normal for an i7?

Okay. and Last thing. Is my decision to use the H105 as top exhaust and everything else (rear, bottom, and front) as intake, correct?

Front - intake
Rear - exhaust
Bottom - intake
Top - Exhaust.

okay. i thought that setup was for aircoolers since they direct air to the back. now i just need to pop out the rear fan and im good to go. If i set the rar to exhaust, wont it starve the h105 of air?

Yes , rear exhaust , always should be exhaust.

sir blackbird. ill run small ffts now before i sleep. will run it for 2-3 hours. what would your expected/optimal temps to be so that i could check if something is wrong. 60-70 degrees max? My ambient is 26-29 deg celsius.

Sir blackbird, can i use the reason of the Corsair Logo being not straight as an RMA complaint? haha. It's disturbing.

I doubt it because , in other pics around the net it looks like the one I posted.

You can try , I guess , but it's a cosmetic issue , not performance.

SR Blackbird. is it normal for i7 4790k to fluctuate temps from 33-46 in 1 second even when connected to an h105? that's during idle no programs at all
